 About the included Patches 
------------------------------

This patch data consists of 32 sound patches created by the following four famous artists.

- Richard Barbieri (UK)
- Jean Michel Jarre (France)
- Jordan Rudess (USA)
- Hisashi Saito (Japan)

You can load this data into the SH-201 by using the included "SH-201 Librarian" software to transmit it from your computer via USB.

  Sending the data to the SH-201

=== Preparations ===

1. Correctly install SH-201 Librarian and the USB driver in your computer.
(Refer to the Readme_E on the included CD-ROM.)

2. Use a USB cable to connect the SH-201 to your computer, and make sure that the SH-201's power is switched on.

3. Start up SH-201 Librarian.

=== Backing up your user patches ===

* If you don't need to keep the current patches that are in the user area, you can skip steps 4--9.

4. In the "Main" window, click the Read [All] button, then click the [OK] button.
The current 32 USER patches of the SH-201 will be read into the "Main" window.

5. From the "File" menu, choose "New."
An "Untitled*" window will open in addition to "Main." (The "*" following the window name will be a number.)

 < For Windows > Return to the "Main" window, and press Ctrl+A to select (highlight) all of the patches.
Then press Ctrl+C to "Copy" all patches.
 < For Mac OS X > Return to the "Main" window, and press Command-A to select (highlight) all of the patches.
Then press Command-C to "Copy" all patches.

7. Move to the "Untitled*" window, and click the "End of ..." line to highlight it.

8. 
 < For Windows > Press Ctrl+V to "Insert" the patches at the "End of ..." line.
 < For Mac OS X > Press Command-V to "Insert" the patches at the "End of ..." line.
Thirty-two patches will appear in the Untitled* window.

9. With the Untitled* window selected, choose the "File" menu command "Save As..."
Assign a suitable filename, such as "backup," and save the file on your computer.

=== Sending the artist patches ===

10. Double-click the patch data icon "Artist_Patch_Lib.shl"
The Artist_Patch_Lib window will open.

< For Windows > In the Artist_Patch_Lib window, press Ctrl+A to select (highlight) all patches.
Then press Ctrl+C to "Copy" all of the artist patches.
< For Mac OS X > In the Artist_Patch_Lib window, press Command-A to select (highlight) all patches.
Then press Command-C to "Copy" all of the artist patches.

12. Return to the "Main" window, and click the first line "A-1" to highlight it.

13. 
< For Windows > Press Ctrl+V to "Insert" the patches into the Main window.
< For Mac OS X > Press Command-V to "Insert" the patches into the Main window.
The thirty-two artist patches will appear in the Main window.

14. In the "Main" window, click the Write [All] button, then click the [OK] button.
The artist patches will be overwritten into the current USER area of the SH-201.

You have now finished sending the artist patches to the SH-201.

* When necessary, the original user data you saved in step 9 can be written back to the SH-201 as described in steps 10--14.

* You can also revert to the factory-set user patches by performing the Factory Reset procedure. To execute a Factory Reset, turn on the power while you hold down [PRESET] and [USER], and then press [WRITE] when [WRITE] and [CANCEL] begin blinking.
